MVP cost starts with first-release scope
A technology name is not enough for a useful estimate. Define the complete task the first release will enable and who will use it.
Choose one complete journey
A booking product needs a path from availability to confirmation. An operational tool may begin with assigning work and recording completion.
What changes the estimate
User roles, interfaces, external integrations, payments, migration, offline behaviour and reporting all affect implementation and validation effort.
Include delivery work
Cover experience design, implementation, testing, deployment and handover. Separate third-party service charges and ongoing maintenance terms.
Write acceptance criteria
For example: an administrator can set a court schedule and a customer can reserve an available time. Clear criteria make additional requirements easier to evaluate.
What to include in a brief
Send the audience, problem, core journey, essential features, references and timing constraints. An estimate can then be based on actual scope.
